As Managing Director, Michael McGrail strives to help his clients accumulate assets and develop transition plans for the next generation. And with more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, there are few who can do this as strategically – and thoughtfully – as Mike. He works with everyone from individuals and personal trusts to non-profit organizations and retirement accounts… and specifically provides counsel in financial planning, investments and estate planning.
Prior to his role with McDonald Partners, Mike was a Senior Vice President/Wealth Advisor for Huntington National Bank. At Huntington, and its predecessors, Sky Trust, N.A. and Mid-American National Bank, he spent nearly 24 years spanning several roles with increasing responsibility in personal trust administration, new business development, retirement and estate planning, and trust taxation and real estate.
Throughout his career, Mike has worked with individual clients around the country, along with trusts and non-profit accounts, such as foundations, endowments, municipalities and charitable trusts. He holds Series 7, 63 and 65 certifications, as well as the Ohio Insurance and LTC License.
A graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, he also holds his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law. In addition, Mike is a graduate from the Dale Carnegie Institute and the Ohio Bankers Association Trust Tax School. He is a Past President of the Toledo Estate Planning Council and is a member of the Toledo Bar Association.
In his spare time, Mike serves on the Board and is Treasurer of The Cocoon, a non-profit organization committed to ending domestic violence and empowering those affected by it in Wood County.
A resident of Perrysburg, Mike is married to Mindy and enjoys watching the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish with his son, David. He also is an avid runner, and even ran the Detroit Half Marathon – running into and back from Canada. He enjoys golfing and exploring the Toledo Metroparks with his Golden Retriever, Wrigley.
